Disappointment!!!

i do not know where and how to start..

ok..it began with my plan to my new students...i have in my mind that i would like to give some extra assignment to them to help them in the lerning process. i asked them to create a blog and write down their feelings and thought about our English class.. i didn't even ask them to write long. just a few words. and yet, it is like a very huge burden for them. until today, some...SOME are still not able to complete the simple task. it was quite a frustration...

i wonder why..is it that hard? for me writing blog is not as hard as struggling yourself to survive in a long forever 2 hours English class in the Ramadhan afternoon. if you think this task is a burden to you, that means you are not fit to be in my class anymore (fustration mode).. maybe one day you will feel sorry for not participating in doing this task..who knows, maybe 1 day, because of this, u can become 1 of the most successful English speaker. (i'll pray for that to happen)

new year resolution..

its been more than a year i have not updated my blog..it was quite a busy life i think..
i dont know, may be i just dont feel like writing something here. and today, here i come...i need to write something...
new year has passed 6 days ago..do i have any resolution? i dont think i would want one. because i know that i wont be able to fulfill it. the best way is, just go with the flow.. oh..how i wish life is that simple. i really hope that this year might not be the same like before.
class is beginning soon, preparation? nothing has been done yet. i guess i'm not in a mood yet. what should i do? hopefully by next week, i have that mood come in. i'm waiting to meet the new faces of my students.

Memorable experience

It was quite funny talking about MELTA. this was my second time going to MELTA conference. My first was 5 years ago. At that time i wasn't really happy attending the conference because i felt that i was nobody. I was just a new person who was forced to go to the English course. I didn't enjoy myself. When my friends asked me about my experience, i pretended that it was fun and interesting. I t was interesting...it's just i was not interested in joining the workshop.

However when one of my friends insisted me to join her to another MELTA conference, i said "why not, just try it one more time... who knows..may be this time it won't be the same".
Then, here we are, at the Palace of the Golden Horse. This time i xan feel the difference. It was very enjoyable. We wee rushing everywhere trying to catch up every interesting course. Furthermore, the food provided was also good. (;-p)..

Here are some photos to share wtih you guys...

election,election,election

hye ya'll,

it been quite a while i did not post any news here...i've been busy witrh my new assignmnet; e-portfolio... kindly browse to my new page www.srohayu.weebly.com promotion nie...anyway, last Saturday (8th March) i went back home for my first experience of election..it was quite fun though to see some fanatics at my own village... it was also a memorable experience. apa taknye...first time pegi election, then new history for malaysia...
pembangkang menang besar,... it was fun to see my own sister who was so nervous waiting for the results...
luckily i'm not that fanatic...anyway, did you all elect for your country?...sometimes i feel it is our responsibility to choose who we feel suitable to be our leader..jgn bile dah tau results baru nyesal...now i feel release that i've done my job...i have chosen my leader...it doesn't matter who rule the country, as long as we have chosen ours, then we are no longer burden with guilt anymore....
from now on, we just wait to see how our new government ruled malaysia...can't wait for the changes (if any)...hehehe..

Aidil Adha

It was quite a hectic day for me having the 'Hari Raya Korban' this year... It was quite tiring and exciting at the same time..just like what i've imagine la, kalao seko lembu kena tumbang...but, it was fun coz my one big family was together... I thought ada jugak my siblings tak boleh balik because of the banjir...however we namaged to be together as a family.. however, i was quite sad at the same time sebab one of my brother didn't manage to come home...it was quite a long time he didn't come back home... but, he did call my mother to wish raya.
Talking about the heavy flood in Malaysia previously,.. don't you guys feel wierd becoz some places are heavily damaged....I think, this is the time where we need to think again what sin we've done...tuhan maybe nak bagi warning pada umatnya...one more thing, we need to think that we are moving closely towards the end of the world (kiamat)...mmg takut bila mengenangkannya..but, this is the fact.
So, moral of the story,...always remember to be prepared for anything because we don't know what's waiting for us in the future.

Traditional vs contemporary

Honestly, to compare between these two differnt works is quite hard for me as I didn't really have an experience in rading traditional YAL. However, as far as know, there are quite differences between these two. When I read 'Chinese Handcuffs' and 'Hero', they obviously try to picture the real situation or conflicts that arose among teenagers nowadays. In contrast, with the more traditional YAL, where they are more on imaginery adventure faced by teenagers those days. Moreover, the elaboration on the literary elements in the book is more complex where the writer uses more complicated language words and vocabulary and it is quite hard to analyze the material.
Contemporarily, the modern YAL is focusing more on the single protagonist with his/her own conflicts and issues. The other characteristics are only as the antagonists and most of them involve the protagonist's family member's, friends and the surroundings. Furthermore, there are more literary elements can be discussed such as the conflicts, issues, plot, setting, language style and many more. The language used is easily followed and understood by the students.
The way the writers write and elaborate each elements are also attracted readers to read more on the modern YAL. This is important to help learners gain interest in reading the YAL and make it as a habit. To have such a good way of expressing the feelings throughout writing YAL, is to think the way young adults think. And to think their way, we need to understand them.
